April 2014 Ford C-Max Sales Down 42% from 2013

Ford Motor Company said yesterday that 2,111 C-Max Hybrid and Energi vehicles were sold in April 2014, down 42% from April 2013.  There was a month-over-month loss of 8% over the 2,295 sold in March.  Overall, Ford U.S. sales decreased 1 percent from last year.

Complete data on U.S. Ford C-Max Hybrid, Energi, Toyota Prius V and Plug-in sales are followed in another blog but published later, because Ford doesn’t report the division between Hybrid and Energi sales until a later date.

Ford C-Max sales were up 18 percent in March from February 2013

Ford C-Max sales were up 18 percent month-to-month with 3,769 vehicles sold during March 2013.  The break down between C-Max Hybrid and Energi sales wasn’t disclosed in the press release.  Ford vehicle sales were up 6 percent from one year ago.

Ford C-Max Sales Up 14% From January

Ford C-Max sales were up 14 percent month-to-month with 3,183 vehicles sold during February 2013.  January 2013 C-Max sales were the lowest full-month sales for the C-Max with just 2,725 sold.  The break down between C-Max Hybrid and Energi sales wasn’t disclosed in the press release.   Ford vehicle sales were up 9 percent from one year ago making it the best February for Ford in six years.  Fusion sales were up 28% from February 2012.  Erich Merkle, chief sales analyst at Ford, said “Los Angeles Fusion sales were up 115%.  In San Francisco they more than doubled.  In areas and markets where Ford historically has had a very low market share, such as in Florida, in Miami we saw Fusion sales more than double.”
