Ford C-Max Energi Loses to Fusion Hybrid for Canadian Green Car Award

The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada announced today that the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid (not the Fusion Energi) is the inaugural recipient of the Canadian Green Car Award.  The other four finalists were the Ford C-Max Energi, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Mazda3, and Volkswagen’s Jetta Diesel.  The judges considered environmental factors including fuel economy, emissions, use of recycled materials, use of naturally sourced materials, and “green” emphasis in the vehicle’s production along with market potential factors including build quality, driving experience, options, availability, consumer appeal, and price.  Other nominees included the Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel, Chevrolet Volt, Ford Edge EcoBoost, Ford Focus Electric, Mazda CX-5, Mazda6, Mercedes-Benz B 250 Turbo, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Nissan Leaf and Smart Fortwo Electric Drive.
