Ford C-Max SYNC Owners with iPhones Get Apple Siri Eyes-Free

On December 3rd, Ford announced that iPhone users with SYNC equipped vehicles dating all the way back to the 2011 model year will get Apple Siri-Eyes-Free capability.  Siri Eyes-Free allows drivers to activate Siri with a long press of the voice recognition button on the steering wheel, similar activating Siri on an iPhone.  The simple, downloadable update will be available through http://owner.ford.com/.  I looked today (4th) and didn’t see the update at the website yet for my 2013 Ford C-Max Energi.

CA & MD 2016 Ford C-Max Energi Owners Get Free Charging

California and Maryland buyers between October 1, 2015 and October 1, 2016 of the Ford C-Max Energi  will receive free access for three years to the SemaConnect and NRG EVgo charging networks.  For information on enrolling, go to the EV 1-2-3 Charge website.  In the area of Southern California I’m currently in (Irvine), there are very few chargers on these networks.  For most customers, this is probably of minimal benefit.  I suggest you check out the map for charger locations to see how beneficial it would be for you.

Ford C-MAX Energi World Sales

Before 2015, the Ford C-MAX Energi was sold only in the U.S. and Canada.  In February 2015, Ford starting selling the C-MAX Energi in the Netherlands.  These are made in Michigan and slightly modified for the Dutch market.  They are not produced with other European C-MAX vehicles in Germany.   As far as I can tell, Ford doesn’t sell the C-MAX Energi in any other countries.
