GE is purchasing 2,000 C-Max Energi plug-in hybrids. According to Yahoo!Finance, this is the largest-ever fleet sale of plug-in electrified vehicles. The Georgia Institute of Technology will study GE employee driving and charging data streamed from the hybrids via the cellular data service built into the Energi, which is also used by the MyFord Mobile app. Ford will also supply new alliterative fuel vehicles for study at GE’s Vehicle Information Center.
Yesterday I posted a blog on the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne that makes all C-Max Hybrid/Energi vehicles – worldwide. I speculate that they may only be able to build 1,800 C-Max Energi hybrids each month. It is clear Ford workers are going to be very busy making C-Max cars. Can they keep up with demand?
