2013 Ford C-Max Recalled for Door Chime Issue

Ford C-Max vehicles built through April 24, 2013 with push-button start need a dealer installed software update, Ford recall number 13C07, to fix a problem.  The horn should beep twice to warn drivers when they leave with the keyfob and the C-Max is still running.  C-Max vehicles built before the above date do not properly beep the horn.  The recall won’t be listed on the U.S. NHTSA website until after the government shutdown is over.  Owners can contact Ford at 866-436-7332.

This article was first published October 7, 2013.  It was revised on October 15, 2013 to more clearly state the problem, which was poorly described on numerous websites.
